It traveled all over the world riding along in cereal crops, which is why it’s called a “Cornflower.” It blooms from early summer to late summer in a range of blue, pink, red, white, and purple hues. Hardy in USDA Zones 1-12 Centaurea Cyanus Cornflower reaches 30 inches tall with wiry stems that are perfect for cutting. Annual in most climates, though in mild-winter Zones it can self-seed so reliably it behaves like a perennial without any effort on your part.
