White Morning Glory (Ipomoea Alba), or Moonflower, is a fast-growing climbing annual vine native to tropical parts of the Americas, from Mexico to South America. It blooms from late summer to early fall, with large, pure white flowers opening in the evening and staying open through the night, filling the air with a sweet fragrance. The whole plant climbs up to 8-10 feet in one season, and individual flowers can reach 4-6 inches across. In USDA Zones 10-12, it will perform as a tender perennial; in all other Zones, it’s rather an annual. The White Morning Glory plant is one of the few ornamental vines that truly earns its place in an evening garden, as more than just a novelty, but as a serious structural element, climbing up to 8-10 feet in one season.
