Marsh Blazing Star (Liatris Spicata) is a perennial wildflower native to North America, growing in moist meadows, prairies, and open woodlands. Blazing Star flower blooms from late summer through early fall, when most of the color in the garden is dying out. It grows tall spikes of color, 48 inches high, packed tightly with pink-purple florets that bloom from the top down and attract pollinators all season long. It is hardy in USDA Zones 4-10. Blazing Star Liatris comes back year after year from a corm-like root structure. In fact, it gets stronger with age. Year one, the plant focuses on the roots, by year two, you get the full show.
